HindiUSA celebrated its 16th Hindi Mahotsav
on May 20-21 at J.P. Stevens High School in
Edison, New Jersey. It was a grand sweet 16
Mahotsav that saw 1,500 Hindi students
performing and participating in various Hindi
programs and competitions showing their
cultural and Hindi skills.
HindiUSA was started with only a few students
and a couple of Hindi schools in year 2001 and
now has become a premier Hindi teaching
institute in USA with over 40 schools and more
than 4,000 students. Hindi Mahotsav is
organized to provide the biggest stage of Hindi to
students, where they present patriotic songs, folk
dances, Vyakaran Jeopardy, plays and poems in a
competitive environment. This program runs
continuously for two days from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M.
The highlights of this Mahotsav were ‘Bharat
Maa Kee Aarati’ by Baba Satyanarayan Mourya
who came from Bharat just for this program.
Swami Ram Kamal Das Ji delivered his blessings
at Hindi Mahotsav. He was also visiting from
Bharat. Hindi Mahotsav also hosted a graduation
ceremony in which 97 Hindi graduates were
honored. These graduates have completed the
highest level of Hindi offered by HindiUSA and
are now ready to become volunteers of Hindi to
test and apply their Hindi skills.
In this indoor Hindi ‘Mela’, about 5,000 people
enjoyed the progress our Hindi students are
making in displaying their Hindi speaking and
comprehension skills. Various book, jewelry,
insurance and food stalls were available for
attendees to take benefit of.
Hindi Mahotsav is a mission to inculcate a
feeling of connectedness with Bhartiya national
link language in students as well as their parents.
There is a feeling of unity when people from
various language background join Hindi
movement for a greater social and cultural cause.
