A CORRESPONDENT
India’s victory in the cricket World Cup
was celebrated with spirit at the Indian
Consulate in New York. Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered there
for the celebration, flashing victory signs.
A highlight was the playing of a recording of Indian captain Mahendra Singh
Dhoni’s final shot, a six, which ended the
game in India’s favor.
The consulate organized the event with
sponsors including India Abroad. A cake
was also cut.
